Oh...By the way...

in case you didn't notice... i changed my template. hope you enjoy the new one...

and if you don't... i don't care.

ta-ta for now.
Nothing especially exciting...

I really haven't posted anything lately that would be deemed profound. Maybe that's a good thing... but I feel like it's not. I've been thinking a lot lately about something my pastor said a few weeks ago in his sermon... he said this (or something like this): "Every problem can be a starting point for God to enter in." I have so much faith that this is true, but at the same time... can't actually see it happening in my life right at the moment. I hate having conflict in my life... hate having problems... but I'm trusting that Jesus is at the other end of them...that one day they will be resolved. I'm REALLY hoping that a few things change & I do indeed see God enter in.

In other news:
1. what's wrong with this picture: it's 97 degrees outside and I have my space heater on in my office.
2. Scrubs & Zach Braff... need I say more? love, love, love, love it. An episode made me cry this morning. Reminded me of Yaacov Anziska (man... I miss that guy... how you can only know someone for 30 days and you know you'll never forget them... I do not know).
3. Very excited for Saturday... Baltimore Orioles game vs White Sox.
4. I think I'm going to go home now.

Have a good evening.

Thoughts about the Red Sox, the White Sox, and the cost of gas...

So...I took a long weekend and headed back to the Windy City... the place of my birth. On Thursday night, took in the first game of a 4 game series between my beloved Chicago White Sox & the dreaded & feared (and equally beloved by others)... Boston Red Sox. The game was AMAZING. My guys lost this game 5-4...but held their own for the rest of the series and split it 2 games apiece. Not bad against the World Series champs. I loved the feeling at the ballpark. It was amazing. Tons of Red Sox fans in the house that evening. I think my guys might actually be contenders.

The price of gas... just be glad you don't own a boat that holds 225 gallons of gas. Be really, really glad you don't put 100 gallons in everytime you stop at the gas station. Want to know how it feels...ask my dad (our little trip to Michigan this weekend... cost $500 in gas alone!).

Bye for now.

Random Sunday thoughts about life...

I'm here at work today... not for very long... have a busy day planned. I had the honor of attending a wedding yesterday. I was really looking forward to this wedding for some reason (maybe because it was on my birthday??). Strange... I actually paid attention to the sermon. Usually doesn't happen. It was all about things that I still need in my life (or should I say... need more of??) ... peace, love, unity, etc. After the wedding, Jamie, Suzy, & I played a great game of Scrabble... which I won... and I don't think Jamie let me win because it was my birthday!! We also watched "The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring"... Samwise is such a great character. We all should be more like him. Loyal until the end.

Seeing Charlie & the Chocolate Factory tonight. Can't wait.

White Sox are still in first place. 60-29. Real test comes at the end of the week... against the Boston Red Sox in Chicago. Attending Thursday's game @ US Cellular Field.

Was reading Ephesians last night. Paul said this "Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine..."

Immeasurably more than all I can imagine. I hope I can imagine that big again one day.

Enjoy your Sunday.

Live 8

So.... I went to the event... a bunch of us took the 6.25am train down to the city... We had this grand plan to spread our blankets and enjoy the show... didn't really turn out that way... By 11am people were walking every which way.... including through our little area. That was more than a little annoying...but all in all, the event was good. I got to see bands I'll probably never pay to see (ie... Dave Matthews Band, Maroon 5)... and I also fell in love (OK... strong word... ok... "like very much") with Keith Urban. We ended up walking back to the train around 7pm... caught a train at 8 and made it home by 9pm.... I was dog tired... fell asleep quickly afterward.

In other news:
1. Congrats to Kate & Don... new kid!!! Yippy.
2. White Sox are 20 games over .500... this is SOOOO their year. Win. Or die trying. Love that motto. I think I might just buy my first white sox shirt!!!
3. Watching "Pride & Prejudice" on DVD... v. good.. Love Colin Firth.

Ok.. that's about it. Enjoy your Wednesday.
